Journey to the Sea

Randy is the editor for this online magazine, devoted to mythology and related forms of literature. He created the logo and the color scheme for this site, and then heavily customized a WordPress theme to change the color scheme and add new functionality.

Most of the web development projects require us to build a web site in a short period of time (usually a month or two) and then hand the keys over to the client. Building sites in that manner makes many web developers short-sighted. Randy primarily runs this site because he love mythology, but secondarily because working with a site like this gives him a much different perspective. He brings his own experience running an ongoing publication to bear on client projects, building them in a way that makes them easy to maintain and modify.

In order to get the site together quickly, Randy started with a free WordPress magazine theme called Mimbo — he first added the logo he created and tweaked the color scheme. Over time, we have made significant changes to the theme to add new features to meet the changing requirements as the site evolves.
